On Saturday, February 3 at Newark’s Prudential Center, four HBCU basketball teams competed in the third annual Invesco QQQ Legacy Classic hosted by actor, director and entrepreneur Michael B. Jordan.
The first match up was Jackson State University vs Grambling Universit. The 4pm contest put Hampton University vs Howard University.
The first game saw Grambling defeat Jackson State defeat 72-60. Grambling was lead by Tra'Michael's game high 19 points. Jalen Jones also tallied 15 points for Grambling. Ken Evans & Adam Chasen led Jackson State with 15 & 14 points respectively.
The 2nd game saw Hampton defeat Howard 63-61 in the battle of Ths Real HU. Hampton was led by Jerry Dangs 21 points. Jordan Nesbit tallied 17 points, 5 rebounds & 5 assists for Hampton as well. Howard saw Dom Campbell & Bryce Harris both score 18 points to lead the Bison.
