Fort Valley State Wildcats routed Morehouse 42-20 on Saturday. The Wildcats played spoiler to Morehouse on their homecoming. Fort Valley jumped out to a quick 21-3 lead after the first quarter. FVSU quarterback Kelvin Durham tossed two first quarter touchdown passes and a pick six by linebacker Jamarian Stevenson put FVSU up early.
The 2nd quarter saw Morehouse score 17 unanswered point. Morehouse scored on a 44 yard drive and 80 yard drive. A 40 yard field goal by Khasen Kirkland made the score 21-20 Fort Valley State at the half.
With a 21-20 halftime edge,Fort Valley dominated the 2nd half outscoring Morehouse 21-0. FVSU drove 60 yards for a pair of Brandon Marshall touchdown runs on its two third-quarter possessions. Dejuan Bell returned a punt for a touchdown in the early fourth. Fort Valley dominated the second half not allowing a Morehouse first down and holding them to negative yards.
FVSU now sits at 5-1 in the SIAC and 5-3 overall.
