Towson tops Morgan State in crosstown rivalry

Towson beat Morgan State 29-21 in a highly competitive game on Saturday night at Towson University. The schools separated by 15 miles met for the 4th time in 5 years, with Towson winning all 4 games. First year Morgan State coach Damon Wilson came into Towson still looking for his first win. The CAA vs MEAC inter conference match-up Drew nearly 10,000 spectators.

Morgan State jumped out to an early lead in the 1st quarter with a 16 yard run by Alfonzo Graham. Towson went on a 13 play 74 yard drive topped off with a 24 yard field goal by Keegan Vaughn to make the score 7-3. The 2nd quarter started with Towson taking a 10-7 lead. Morgan State hit paydirt to take a 14-13 lead into halftime after a 7 play 75 yard drive capped with a Carson Baker touchdown pass.

The 3rd quarter started with Towson taking a 20-14 lead but Morgan Statd again hit paydirt to take a 21 -20 lead after another touchdown pass from QB Carson Baker. Towson came right back with a TD pass to take a 26-21 lead while adding a field goal in the 4th to make the final score 29-21.

Alfonzo Graham had 15 carries for 89 yards to lead Morgan State in rushing. QB Carson Baker finished 10-24 for 154 yards to go along with 43 rushing yards,. Andre Crawlsy grabbed 4 receptions for 63 yards to lead Morgan. Junior linebacker Lawrence Richardson had a game high 13 tackles to lead Morgan on the defensive side of the ball.
