Benedict wins SIAC Football championship

Benedict college trounced Albany State 47-10 to claim their second straight SIAC Football title. With the win the Tigers also wrapped up their 2nd straight undefeated season and second straight number one seed in the D2 playoffs.

Benedict's number one ranked defense lead the way holding Albany State to only 59 yards passing and 193 total yards. Benedict outgained Albany State 563 to 193. Leading 17-3 at halftime Benedict outscored Albany State 30-7 in the 2nd half.

On offense Benedict was lead by quarterback Dennis Aeneas going 15-26 first 278 yards and two touchdowns. Aeneas also led the team in rushing with 7 carries for 95 yards. Benedict's Caden High led all receivers with 9 receptions for 156 yards. On the defensive side Benedict had 6 different players register a sack. John Hannibal led the way with two sacks.
